Marci’s new 432-page spiral-bound book, Kansas Guidebook for Explorers is the most comprehensive Kansas guidebook with 3,597 entries and over 400 color photos. Camp Concordia: German POWs in the Midwest,” by Lowell A. May.  During World War II there were 155 main and 340 branch prisoner-of-war camps in the U.S. — eight in Kansas. Camp Concordia operated from 1943-45 and was the largest Kansas camp, designed to hold more than 4,000 prisoners.
